John Parkyn
John Parkyn, an expatriate New Zealand writer, lives in Morelia, Mexico, with his wife, Elizabeth Romero. His novella ‘The Ambush’, set in New Zealand, Nicaragua, and Mexico, was published in 2012 by Oceanbooks Ltd in Tauranga (http://www.oceanbooks.co.nz) as was also his first collection of short stories, ‘Don Vicente’s Daughter and Other Stories’. He worked for many years as a journalist in New Zealand and England and has published short stories in several New Zealand magazines, including Brief, Takahe, NZ Listener, Experiment and Fresh. He is currently working on a novel set in Mexico.
